About Pedagogy Ventures

Who We Are

Priten Soundar-Shah

Meet Priten

Priten’s journey in education began early – as a high school student, he founded a nonprofit to provide free tutoring and test prep to under-resourced communities.

With a degree in Philosophy from Harvard University and a Master’s in Education Policy & Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Priten combines deep academic expertise with real-world classroom experience.

Under Priten’s leadership, Pedagogy Ventures has helped over 200 educational organizations adapt and thrive – from guiding schools through the shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic to introducing AI tools that make teachers’ lives easier.

Priten’s philosophy is simple: put educators and students first, and innovation will follow. He is often heard saying,I see myself as a philosopher who codes, not a developer who philosophizes, reflecting his belief that technology in education must be guided by thoughtful pedagogy.

Our Mission

We exist to help educators and institutions harness the power of technology to create meaningful, effective, and ethical learning experiences that inspire students and transform education.

Core Values

Innovation

We are constantly exploring new ideas and technologies to improve education, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking to find better ways to help students learn.

Responsible & Ethical AI

We champion ethical ed-tech that prioritizes student privacy, equity, and safety, with AI as a helpful partner always underpinned by human judgment.

Meaningful Learning

Technology is a means, not an end. We start with pedagogical best practices and research on how students learn best to drive real outcomes.

Collaboration

We believe the best solutions emerge when educators, technologists, and learners work together to solve problems.

Educational Expertise

Our foundation is in deep knowledge of how teaching and learning works, ensuring technology serves pedagogy—not the other way around.

What We Do

Community, Coaching, and Experiences for Educational Innovation

We bring together expertise in education, technology, and design to create solutions that empower teachers and engage students. From professional development to custom software, our work spans the full spectrum of educational technology.
